The Heroes Fall is a series of novels written by Z. J. Rykoa about World War IV and the end of the world.
The story follows the life of Jaden Daiyus, a terminally ill youth that is forced to fight in the wars. As he seeks out a cure, he learns of a far greater threat to the planet than the wars of the human race and suddenly a whole different reality opens up to him; full of deceit, mystery and power beyond his wildest dreams.
With the guidance of people capable of facing up against entire armies on their own, he learns of a strange energy deep within the Earth, and despite everything he had been told during his childhood, the people capable of wielding this energy are not as righteous as they might first appear. Now finding his own power, he must choose who to side with: a military force trying to defend the planet, a secret society with their own agenda, or the only piece of his childhood he has left.
Whatever his choice, the dangers are clear, and the fate of the world might some day fall upon his shoulders.
